Currently the manual installation of KanBo on Azure works with the 11th and the 12th version of Azure SQL Server. The reason for that is a very bad performance of SQL Database creation time which causes timeouts in KanBo – sometimes it takes up to 5 minutes. (read more about this issue at Microsoft Azure Forum) In the version V11 of the SQL Server it takes about 5-10 seconds.
We have recently discovered that some of the new subscriptions weren't able to reach old management portal and in fact couldn't create a SQL Server V11 in a new portal. However, It's possible to create a V11 server by using PowerShell.
Step 1: Install Azure PowerShell components with following command:
Set-ExecutionPolicy -ExecutionPolicy RemoteSigned Install-Module -Name Azure
Step 2: Connect to Azure
$subscr="YourAzureSubscriptionNameGoesHere" $staccount="YourAzureSubscriptionIDGoesHere" Select-AzureSubscription -SubscriptionName $subscr –Current Set-AzureSubscription -SubscriptionName $subscr -CurrentStorageAccountName $staccount
Step 3: Create V11 Azure SQL Server
New-AzureSqlDatabaseServer -Location "West Europe" -AdministratorLogin "AdminLogin" -AdministratorLoginPassword "AdminPassword"
